All hail the chocolate chip cookie. Sort of looks like the status of the chocolate chip cookies rate rather high in the cookie world I would say. By the way, the chocolate chip cookie was invented by accident in 1939 by Ruth Wakefield, who ran the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts.
Ruth Wakefield, who ran the successful Toll House restaurant in Whitman, Massachusetts, was mixing a batch of cookies when she decided to add broken pieces of Nestlé Semi-Sweet chocolate into the recipe expecting the chocolate to melt. Instead, the semi-sweet bits held their shape and softened to a delicate creamy texture and the chocolate chip cookie was born. Wow!
That’s it for facts folks. Do not let this day pass you by without enjoying a few of your cookies.
